A Family

The history of La Forge de Megève
by Taïna Goupille

It all began in Megève in 1987, when my father Pascal Goupille discovered a new passion for wrought ironwork, which would follow him for the rest of his career.
Together with my mother Doriane Goupille, they decided to take over my maternal grandparents' family shop, La Forge, located at 986 route de prariand in Megève.
Just above the shop is my childhood home, so I've been immersed in the authentic spirit of La Forge since I was a child.
At the back of the shop is a small workshop where my mother uses her paintbrushes to create beautiful paintings that complement the range of cooking appliances we offer, along with beautiful one-off pieces such as patatiere and other wooden souvenirs.
Just 500 metres from the shop is my father's workshop, where the prototypes of the appliances available on this site are designed and created, and then manufactured in the same region in Haute-Savoie.

My parents gave a great deal of their time to this business, which for me today is an integral part of the family.
My father would leave very early in the morning to go to his workshop, return at lunchtime just long enough to regain his strength, and then leave again just as early until late at night.
My mother was in the shop just below me, so I was lucky enough to be able to see her at any time of day.
It wasn't until the evening that the three of us finally sat down to a meal together.
This moment of sharing was important to us, because it was the moment we'd been waiting for all day to finally take the time to get together, talk about our day and enjoy a good home-cooked meal.
I've kept these habits, and that's why for me a meal is a time for sharing and conviviality.
Through our products, we hope to pass on to you our passion for gastronomy, but above all our adoration for sharing around the table.
